Once again we are in full award season swing and while the red carpet of the 76th Golden Globe Awards was graced with both neutral and emboldened gowns on January 6th, we also saw eye-catching shades of blue. Here are some of the highlights from the night.

Rei Kawakubo / Comme des Garçons

The final countdown for the Met Gala begins as designers and attendees are in preparation for the long awaited red carpet benefit. Japanese designer, Rei Kawakubo will be the first living designer since 1983 to be the sole subject of this year's annual Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute's fashion exhibit.

The Japanese label Comme des Garçons translates to the French line "like some boys". The theatrical designs present an avant-garde approach to fashion. Past Kawakubo runway highlights include the 2001 Spring collection's use of camouflage, bubble wrap and packing tape and the carnival-inspired 1994 Spring collection called “Kaleidoscope". 

Challenging the conventional, the Spring 2017 ready-to-wear show resembled a sculpture exhibit rather than a runway. With the inspiration behind the collection left for interpretation, Kawakubo created wearable 3-dimensional structures with overwhelming capes, oversized collars and ornamental headdresses.

Oscars Best Dressed: Women

Many took the iconic gold statuette to heart on last night's 89th Annual Academy Awards red carpet. Inspired by the glamour of the Oscars, Chrissy Teigen, Jessica Biel, Emma Stone, Hailee Steinfeld and Dakota Johnson found their way onto our best-dressed list. 

Chrissy Teigen accompanied husband John Legend who performed a number of Oscar nominated songs from La La Land. Teigen wore an embellished Zuhair Murad Couture gown accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings.

Jessica Biel supported her husband and Oscar nominee, Justin Timberlake, during his opening performance of "Can't Stop the Feeling". Biel wore an intricate metallic Kaufman Franco ensemble and statement collar by Tiffany & Co.

La La Land actress Emma Stone accepted her award for Leading Role wearing a beaded fringe Givenchy Haute Couture gown and complimenting Tiffany & Co. earrings.

Actress Hailee Steinfeld appeared on stage to present Best Animated Feature Film wearing an ethereal floral-printed Ralph & Russo ensemble paired with Neil Lane jewels.

Actress Dakota Johnson walked the red carpet in a stunning long-sleeve Gucci gown paired with an elegant archival Cartier necklace from 1958.

Oscars Best Dressed: Men

These men are redefining the classic tuxedo. Mahershala Ali, Ryan Gosling, Aldis Hodge, Dev Patel and John Legend walked the 89th Annual Academy Awards red carpet in style. 

Mahershala Ali accepted an award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the Best Picture,  Moonlight. Ali wore a midnight black Ermenegildo Zegna Couture suit and Monique Péan jewelry.

Nominee for Best Actor for his role in La La Land, actor Ryan Gosling wore a classic Gucci tuxedo and bowtie with Christian Louboutin shoes.

Hidden Figures actor Aldis Hodge supported the film in it's nomination for Best Picture and Best Writing Adapted Screenplay. Hodge walked the red carpet in a navy Giorgio Armani tuxedo with a lapel chain and a watch by Greubel Forsey.

Nominee for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role, Lion actor Dev Patel attended the event in a custom white Burberry tuxedo paired with black dress pants and classic bowtie.

John Legend performed the winning Best Original Song, "City of Stars" from La La Land wearing a traditional Gucci tuxedo, oversized bowtie and Monique Péan cufflinks from the HeforShe collection with Emma Watson.
