2014 marks my 20th year as a professional wardrobe stylist, and I figured what better way to commemorate this milestone but with the increasingly popular #ThrowBackThursday post! I always say that fashion is cyclical. Trends come, they go, and they come again but better each time. So in my version of the #ThrowBackThursday I sought to prove this statement by looking at trends from the beginning of my career and comparing them to the current Spring/Summer 2015 looks.
The first step I took in my endeavor was digging up my fifteen-twenty year old Vogue and Harper’s B magazines from my storage space. Not a clean task but pretty fun I must say! The second step was to flip through the pages of these decades old fashion bibles while simultaneously looking at current runway shows on style.com.
Through FIT intern Stephan Mullen's persistence and my love of research we found some really great translations of how trends have been reinvented over the past twenty years!
